Since many free web space offers have a file size limit, these programs
allow to upload and download big files by splitting them into more files
of smaller size.

               USING SPLIT
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

0) The program SPLIT can split a big file into many files of the
desired dimension. 

1) The program SPLIT must be in the same folder of the file you want to
split. If it is in another folder, please copy the program in the same
folder of the file you want to split of vice versa.

2) Launch the program SPLIT

3) You will be asked the name of the file that you want to split. Write
the name of the file, for instance MyMovie.mpg. This file must exist.

4) You will be asked the desired Split Dimension in bytes. Write the
maximum dimension for your output files in bytes. For instance if you
want many files of 1 MB you have to specify 1000000 as Split Dimension.

5) The program will generate many files in the same folder, with
no extension, and whose name is 000, 001, 002, 003, and so on.

Please, before launching SPLIT be sure there is no file in the same
folder whose name is 000, 001, 002 and so on with no extension.
If there are, delete them or create a new folder and move them to the
new folder.

               USING UNSPLIT

0) The program UNSPLIT can unify into a single big file a group of files
which have been generated with the program SPLIT. These files must have
no extension and their names must be 000, 001, 002 and so on.

1) The program UNSPLIT must be in the same folder of the files you want
to unsplit. If it is in another folder, please copy the program in the
same folder of the files you want to unsplit of vice versa.

2) Launch the program UNSPLIT

3) You will be asked the name of the file that will be generated. Write
the name of the file, for instance MyMovie.mpg. This file must not exist,
else it will be overwritten without asking.

4) The program will generate the file MyMovie.mpg by reading and
unifying into a single file the group of files 000, 001 and so on.

Note that for certain properties of the specifications of the MPG format,
if you split a MPG video you can also watch the splitted files as a
sequence of cuts of the original file without unsplitting the group of
files - just add the extension mpg.
